Method

1.       Firstly I prepped the hair by starting with a side parting and sectioning off a bottom section of the hair and two side sections behind the ear.

2.       I then waited for the tongs to warm up and began to curl the bottom section of hair.  Instead of letting it drop, I rolled it up into a barrel curl and pinned into place with a bobby pin.  I did this to the whole back section of the hair making sure the barrel curls all faced downwards.

3.       I then moved onto the side sections and curled the sections in the direction I wanted it to go, which was behind the ear.

4.       Whilst the hair was setting I moved onto the make up.

5.       After I had washed and sanitised my hands, I cleansed, toned and moisturised my models face.

6.       Then, using a Mac foundation that matched my models skin tone, I applied it all over the face using a buffing brush so it blended in nicely.

7.       I then applied Illamasqua setting powder all over the face to give a nice matte finish to the foundation.

8.       Using a contour brush I applied the blusher quite strongly onto the cheek bones.

9.       I then moved onto the eyebrow.  Using a disposable mascara wand, I combed the brows upwards into a high arched shape.  With a stiff eyebrow brush I shaded in the brows with my eyebrow palette to create a strong look.

10.   Next was the eyeshadow, I used colours 1,2,3,15 to create a strong blue eyeshadow look.  I used the black as a slight liner for definition.

11.   Then using a mascara wand, I applied mascara to both bottom and top lashes to finish off the eyes.

12.   Lastly was the lipstick.  I mixed two colours together with a spatula and applied them to the lips with a lip brush.

13.   Then it was back to the hair.  I removed all of the barrel curls and brushed them out to create a fluffy effect.

14.   Using a bobby pin and a pin tail comb, I hairsprayed the bigger parting and pinned it flat behind the ear.

I enjoyed creating the Anita Berber look however I was nervous about recreating it exactly the same.  The only minor difference to me is the curls at the back of my models head are slightly different, but that is all about placement of the barrel curls.  If I was to create this design for an on going tv production, I would use a wig.  I made sure I had all the notes I needed and remained calm, I was very pleased with my continuity image which is on the right of the images below.
